A special meeting was called to order at 4:00 P.M., July 6, 1973
by Mayor Hervey. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss
State Highway Department Urban Transportation Study and consider
a hotel tax. After considerable discussion, it was agreed that
Munson Drive would be removed from the transportation plan and
that Agronomy Road be moved from Priority Group No. 2, to
Priority Group No. 1.
Upon motion of Councilman Adams and seconded by Councilman Dale,
the councilmen voted to levy a 3% hotel tax when it could be worked
out with the City of Bryan, in order that ordinances could be
passed at the same time. It was agreed that the revenue received
from the tax would be used in accordance with the state law.
As there was no other business to discuss, the meeting was
adjourned.
