AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10, SECTION 3 OF THE COLLEGE STATION CODE OF
ORDINANCES RELATING TO SPEED ZONES AND SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATING ADDITIONAL
AREA IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION IN WHICH RATES OF SPEED OF THIRTY (30)
MILES PER HOUR OR MORE ARE AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING THAT ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE
ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION:
SECTION 1. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to
speed zones on SH Highway 30 in the City of College Station are hereby rescinded,
and that Chapter 10, Section 3, Sub-Section 2.f of the Col)ege Stattem Cede of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
(f) SH Highway 30, for traffic moving in an easterly direction for
the first 0.250 m~le from the intersection of LP 507, the speed
limit shall be thirty-f~ve (35) miles per hour. For the next
1.290 mile the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour.
For the next 0.200 mile the speed limit shall be fifty (50)
miles per hour. For the next 1.644 mile the speed limit shall
be fifty-five (55) miles per hour. For the next 0.200 m~le the
speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next
0.157 mile to the East City Limit, the speed limit shall be
forty (40) miles per hour.
For traffic moving in a westerly direction, for the f~rst 0.157
mile from the East City Limit, the speed limit shall be forty
{40) m~les per hour. For the next 0.200 mile the speed limit
shall be Fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 1.644 mile the
speed limit shall be fifty-five {55) miles per hour. For the
next 0.200 mile the speed limit shall be fifty (50} miles per hour.
For the next 1.290 mile the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles
per hour. For the next 0.250 mile to the intersection of LP 507,
the speed limit shall be thirty-f~ve {35) miles per hour.

SECTION II: WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public
necessitates immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective from and after
the date of its passage as provided by the Charter of the City of College Station.
