CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING
THURSDAY, JUNE 9, 1988
5:00 P.M.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT:

Mayor Ringer, Councilmen Brown, Haddox,
McIlhaney, Gardner, Schneider, Birdwell

Agenda Item No. 1 - Closed session to discuss personnel
[6252-17 (2) (g) ].
The council convened into closed session at 5:00 p.m. to discuss
appointments of citizen committees.
Agenda Item No. 2 -Action on closed session.
The council reconvened in open session to announce the following
appointments.
Councilman McIlhaney moved to re-appoint members to the Cemetery
Committee: Peggy Owens, 5/90; Mary Eckles, 5/90; Virginia
Abbott, 5/90; Eileen Kramer, 5/90. Councilman Haddox seconded the
motion which carried unanimously, 7-0. Council Liaison -
McIlhaney.
Councilman Schneider moved to appoint members to the Community
Appearance Committee: Reappointments: Jelena Djuric, 5/90; Marci
Rodgers, 5/90; and Rudi Freund, 5/90. New members: Mary Jo Lay,
5/90; and Kay Rice, 5/90. Councilman Brown seconded the motion
which carried unanimously, 7-0. Council Liaison - Schneider.
Councilman McIlhaney moved to appoint Beth Walterscheidt, 5/90;
and reappoint Judy LeUnes, 5/90 as members to the Community Center
Advisory Committee. Councilman Schneider seconded the motion
which carried unanimously, 7-0. Council Liaison - McIlhaney.
Councilman Brown moved to appoint members to the Economic Devel-
opment Foundation: Pat Cornelison, Maria Saccomen, and Quest
Daniels. Councilman Haddox seconded the motion which carried
unanimously, 7-0.
Councilman Birdwell moved to reappoint Charles Freeman, 5/90 to
the Electrical Examining Board. Councilman Schneider seconded
the motion which carried unanimously, 7-0. Council Liaison -
Birdwell.

Councilman Brown moved to appoint the following members to the
Energy Management Committee. Brian Banks, 5/90; Janice Ray, 5/90;
and John Grillo, 5/90. Councilman Birdwell seconded the motion
which carried unanimously, 7-0. Council Liaison - Brown.
Councilman McIlhaney moved to appoint the following members to the
Historic Preservation Com~ittee. Reappointments: Gary Halter,
5/90; Lois Beach, 5/90. New Members: Debbie Gerik, 5/90; and Joan
Lamkin, 5/90. Councilman Haddox seconded the motion which carried
unanimously, 7-0. Council Liaison - Ringer.
Councilman Gardner moved to appoint the following members to the
Structural Standards Board/Buildin~ Code Board of Adjustments:
Reappointments: James Holster, 5/90; Steven Stewart, 5/90; New
Member: Brenda Ryan, 5/90. Councilman Birdwell seconded the
motion which carried unanimously, 7-0. Council Liaison -
Gardner.
Councilman McIlhaney moved to appoint Col. Terri Rosser as an
alternate member to the War on Drugs Committee to fill any
vacanies which may occur. Councilman Brown seconded the motion
which carried unanimously, 7-0.
Mayor Ringer announced that he has contacted the following persons
to serve on the Joint Relief Funding Committee: Malcolm Richards,
5/91; Roy Hahn, 4/89; and Gall Schmidt, 5/90.
Agenda Item No. 3 - Adjourn.
Mayor Ringer declared the meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
