AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1638, THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATIONw SPECIFICALLY AFFECTING
PROVISIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT SIGNS.
WHEREASw the City Council o~ the City o£ College Station, Texas
held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7=00 p.m. on Thursday~
April 23, 1987 On the question o~ amending Ordinance No. 1638;
AND WHEREAS, the City Council bas determined to amend Ordinance
No. 1638;
THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION~ TEXAS:
The Zoning Ordinance No. 1638, Section 12 is hereby amended by
revising the ~ollowing sections:

Section 12.2 DEFINITIONS~ DEVELOPMENT SIGNS is revised to read as
~ollows:
Section 12.2 DEFINITIONS
DEVELOPMENT SIGN: A sign announcing a proposed subdivision or a
proposed building project.

Section 12.3. GENERAL PROVISIONS subsection D.
amended to read as ~ollows:
DEVELOPMENT SIGN is
A development sign may be placed only on private property sub]ect
to the requirements ~n Table II.
A development sign for a building project shall be removed i~ the
project has not received a building permit at the end o~ twelve
(12) months. The Zoning O~£icial may renew the sign permit for
one (1) additional twelve (12) month period upon request. Once a
buxlding permit ~or the project is received, the sign may stay in
place until 75 percent of the project is leased or a permanent
sign is installed, whichever comes first.
A development sign for a proposed subdivision shall be removed if
a preliminary or final plat has not been approved by the end of
twelve (12) months. The Zoning O~/cial may renew the sign permit
for one (1) additional twelve (12) month period upon request.
Once a plat has been approved, the sign permit is valid as long as
a preliminary plat is in e~ect, or in the absence o~ a valid
preliminary plat, ~or twenty-four (24) months from the date o~
approval o£ a final plat.

This ordinance shall become e~fective from and after its passage
in accorOance with the City Charter of the City of College
Station.
