HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-1667 - Ordinance - 07/24/1986ORDINANCE NO.1~67 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER I OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, BY ADDING A SECTION ESTABLISHING FINES, FEES, AND CHARGES TO BE CHARGED AND COLLECTED BY THE COLLEGE STATION BRANCH OF THE BRYAN PUBLIC LIBRARY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. W~EREAS, the City of College Station is lng a public library for the benefit of County; and in the process of creat- the citizens of Brazos WHEREAS, the City of Bryan has agreed to establish and operate the College Station branch library for the City of College Station so that in the future, the City of College Station can seek State accreditation of this library. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS; That Chapter 1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station is hereby amended by addin~ a new section, to be numbered Section 26, which said section shall read as follows: "SECTION 26: FINES, FEES AND OTHER CHARGES A. FINES Adult Collection: Twenty-five cents ($.25) Der day with a maximum being the replacement cost of the materials (books, paperbacks, phonograph records, cassettes, periodicals and materials from the vertical file). There shall be a five (5) day grace period for books and paperbacks borrowed from the adult collection. Adult Collection of Art Prints & Sculpture: One Dollar ($1.00) per day with a maximum being the cost to replace the item. B. CHARGES Lost materials: Charges for lost or irreparably damaged items include the cost of the item plus a Five Dollar ($5.00) non-refundable service charge. Ordinance No. 1667 Page 2 Damaged materials: Charges are determined by the cataloqin~ deDartment of the library, based on the amount of time spent and materials used in repairing the item. C. FEES Replacement of Borrower's Card: The initial card for Brazos County residents is free of charge. A Three Dollar ($3.00) fee will be charged to replace a lost card. Non-Resident Library Cards: Library cards will be issued to out-of-county residents for an annual fee of Twenty-four Dollars ($24.00) valid for one year from the month of pur- chase." II.
