HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-1612 - Ordinance - 09/12/1985ORDINANCE NO. 1612 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJOINING THE CITY LIM- ITS OF TSE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STA- TION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, an affidavit having been made by all of the owners of the hereinafter described territory adjoining the limits of the City of College Station, Texas, to the effect that there are no registered voters residing within the boundaries of the herein- after described territory and that the affiants are the sole owners of the hereinafter described territory; and WHEREAS, the aforesaid affidavit having been filed with the City Secretary who has certified the same to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing at City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on August 1, 1985, and the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on August 8, 1985, on the question of receiving certain territory into the city limits; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council by virtue of the authority con- ferred by Article II, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of College Station, Texas, approved April 1, 1978, by this ordinance does hereby receive such territory within the incorporated limits of the City of College Station, Texas, such territory being more particularly described as follows: Being a 1.05 acre tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Ab- stract No. 7, Brazos County, Texas, and being a portion of a 20.00 acre tract conveyed to W. D. Fitch by Garland Laningham, et ux, as described by a deed recorded in Volume 542, Page 526 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas and being more par- ticularly described by metes and bounds on the attached Exhibit "A". Attached to and incorporated herein as a part of this Ordinance is a Statement of Intent to Install Utilities, Streets, and Drainage, marked Exhibit "B", and a Service Plan, marked Exhibit "C", providing for the extension of municipal services into the duly described territory, said plan having been presented at the public hearing heretofore named and subsequently approved by the city council of the City of College Station, Texas. The development of the subdivision shall be in accordance with all City of College Station standards and specifications. EXHIBIT "B" 1985 EXHIBIT "C" - ROCK PRAIRIE ROAD ANNEXATION SERVICE PLAN A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A PLAN OF SERVICE FOR ANNEXATION OF 1.73 ACRES LOCATED SOUTHWEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF ROCK PRAIRIE ROAD AND RIO GRANDE DRIVE. COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS. WHEREAS, HE-1952 requires a plan of service be adopted by the 8overning body of a city prior to passage of an ordinance annexing an area. WHEREAS, the City of College Station is contemplating annexation of an area bounded as follows: SEE EXHIBIT "A" NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Or, THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION. TEXAS: ' Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Article 970a. Vernon's Texas Civil Statues, as amended by HB-1952, there is hereby adopted, for the area bounded as described in Exhibit "A", the following plan of service: a. Police Patroling, radio responses to calls, and other routine police services, using present personnel and equipment. will be provided on'the effective date of annexation. Additional.police personnel and petrol cars will ~e added to continue the present level of police services throughout the city. including the newly annexed areas as required. (3) Traffic signalg, traf'fic signs, street~mar~ings, and other traffic control devices will be installed as the need therefore is established by appropriate study and traffic standards. .Fire No additional equipment or personnel will be to serve the expanded City. Emergency Medical Service required (1) No additional equipment or personnel will be required to serve the expanded City. he The water distribution system for this area is in place. Sewers The sanitary sewer collection system for this area is in place. No additional facilities will be required. Rlectrical Initial Blectrlcal Service to this area will be provided from the exlstlnt syste~ within the City. Refuse Collection The same refuse ~ollection service provided within the City_Ulll be provided In this area in accordance with the policy and ordinances of the:~Clty. Planning and Zoning The Planning and Zoning Jurisdiction of the City will extend to the annexed area on the effective date of annexation. City planning and zoning requirements will thereafter encompass the annexed area· All areas will be zoned A-O until permanent zoning classifications are established· Where prior planning studies have been conducted on specific parcels, permanent zoning may be established upon the effective date of annexation if requested by the property owners or initiated by the City Council. Street Lighting Street lights will be installed in substantially dev~loped commercial and residential areas under th~.standards~c~rrently prevailing In the existing city and in accordance wider the policiea and ordinances of the City. '' Recreation Residents of the annexed area may use all exiatln8 recreational facilities, parks, etc. on the effective date of annexation.
