AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION FRANCHISE ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND PROVIDING FOR: SEVEN
(7) MEMBERS, A PERIOD OF TWO (2) YEARS, THEIR DUTIES AND THE
METHOD OF APPOINTMENT; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STA-
TION, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: There is hereby created a Franchise Advisory Commit-
tee to be known as the "City of College Station Franchise Advis-
ory Committee," which shall be composed of seven (7) members.
The duties of said Committee shall be to advise and make recom-
mendations to the City Council concerning all matters relating to
franchising within the City of College Statics. The Franchise
Advisory Committee shall review current franchises and franchise
applications. The Committee shall also carry out all other
duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the City Coun-
cil.
SECTION 2: The term of office for said Advisory Committee shall
commence on September 1 and shall be for two (2) years. The mem-
bers of the Committee shall be appointed by the City Council for
that period of time. The Council shall appoint one member of the
Committee to serve as Chairman and one member of the Committee to
serve as Vice-Chairm~.
Members appointed to fill vacancies on said Committee shall be
for the remainder of the term of the predecessor member.
SECTION 3: Said Committee's authorization shall expire at the
end of two years, on August 1, 1987. Said Committee is author-
ized to establish its own rules, regulations, and bylaws,subject
to ratification by the City Council, and shall provide for regu-
lar and special meetings necessary to carry on its business.
