Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Badgett, Brown and Halpin; City
Secretary McGinnis and City Manager Vaughn.
Visitors present: T. E. Robertson and Ran Boswell,
The council discussed city affairs in general and the clean-up campaign which
is now on and declared its continued support in helping to make the City
clean.
The Council authorized Mr. Ran Boswell to act as City Manager betfreen the
time of Mr. Vaughn's leaving and Mr. Rogers assuming the duties of City
Manager.
After a discussion of the polio situation and the needs for an ordinance to
prevent: the keeping of livestock and poultry within the city, an ordinance
incorporating these features was proposed and passed.
Councilman Badgett made a motion that the City Council adopt an ordinance
pertaining to the keeping of livestock, poultry and rabbits within the
corporate limits of the City and assessing a penalty for the violation of
the ordinance. This ordinance will be known as Ordinance No. 120 and was
declared and passed as an emergency ordinance. Councilman Halpin seconded
the motion and the Cbuncil vote was unanimous in favor of the motion.
