AN ORDINANCE RESCINDING ORDINANCE NO. 1252 AND RESOLUTION NO.
2-12-81-8 RELATIVE TO CHILD CARE/DEVELOPMENT FACILITY PERMITS.
WHEREAS, the City Council met on the 26th day of May, 1988, and
found that the regulation of child care facilities has been ade-
quately regulated by the Department of Human Resources and the
County Health Department through their respective registration
processes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council found that child care businesses are
stringently regulated by these two agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Planning staff recommended that the ordinance and
resolution be rescinded as the fees charged are redundant with
other agency procedures and only cost day care and city staff
time and money; licenses and inspections are required by the
county and state under their permit procedures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, that Ordinance No. 1252 and Resolution
No. 2-12-81-8 are hereby rescinded.
