HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-1827 - Ordinance - 09/27/1989NO.1827 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION AND PROVIDING FOR THE INTEREST AND SINKING FUND FOR THE YEAR 1989 - 1990 AND APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS; SECTION I. That there is hereby levied and there shall be collected for the use and support of the municipal government of the City of College Station, and to provide Interest and sinking Fund for the 1989-1990 fiscal year upon all property, real, personal, and mixed within the corporate limits of said city subject to taxation, a tax of forty cents ($0.40) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of property, and said tax being so levied and apportioned to the specific purpose herein set forth: 1. For the maintenance and support of the general government (General Fund), sixteen cents ($0.16) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of property; and 2. For the Interest and Sinking Fund, twenty-four cents ($0.24) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of property to be apportioned as follows: General Obligation Bonds, Issued 1968; General Obligation Bonds, Issued 1971; General Obligation Bonds, Issued 1976; General Obligation Bonds, Issued 1978, 1978-II; General Obligation Bonds, Issued 1982-II; General obligation Bonds, Issued 1984; General Obligation Refunding, Issued 1987; General Obligation Refunding, Issued 1988; Proposed General Obligation Bonds, Issue 1989. SECTION II. All monies collected under this ordinance for the specific items therein named, shall be and the same are hereby appropriated and set apart for the specific purpose indicated in each item and the Assessor and Collector of Taxes and the Director of Finance shall keep these accounts so as to readily and distinctly show the amount collected, the amounts expended and the amount on hand at any time, belonging to such funds. It is hereby made the duty of the Tax Assessor and Collector to deliver at the time of depositing any monies, a statement showing to what fund such deposit should be made and from what source received. SECTION III. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 27th DAY OF SeRtember , 1989.
