HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-1825 - Ordinance - 09/27/1989NO.1825 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS PRESCRIBING AN ASSESSMENT FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION THAT: I. CHAPTER 11, SECTION 5 I. MONTHLY CHARGES: PAYMENT OF IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: I. CHARGES: PAYMENT OF (1) There shall be monthly charges assessed and collected from each person, firm, or corporation within the city limits the following monthly assessment charges for garbage disposal: Each residential dwelling unit (single or multi -family not utilizing semi -automated or automated commercial -type refuse containers). Each residential dwelling unit utilizing semi -automated or automated commercial type refuse containers. $ 6.30 per month $ 4.20 per month Places of business that can best $30.90 per month be serviced by six time per week handcrew collection, utilizing plastic bags, without causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. Places of business that can best be serviced by the utilization of a semi- () r r � r 2 J D automated or automated commercial -type refuse container. 3 cubic yard container $ 86.95 per month 6 cubic yard container $140.95 per month (2) Sanitary Landfill Disposal Fee $18.00 per ton The Solid Waste Superintendent, or his representative, shall be notified of any new service locations or changes in service levels and will designate the appropriate service level and/or the size(s) of container(s) to be utilized. The Superintendent can require changes in service levels at any location when the current service is inadequate and is causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. All roll -off container service Grease trap waste, municipally registered haulers only, transported in vacuum trucks. $60.40 per load plus $18.00 per ton landfill charge. $50.00 per load for processing plus $18.00 per ton landfill charge. (3) Payments must be received at the city utility office on or before the due date to avoid late charges. Payment received after the due date will be assessed a penalty equaling ten percent (10%) of the current months charges with a minimum charge of three dollars ($3.00). II. CHAPTER 11, SECTION 5 IS HEREBY AMENDED BY THE ADDITION OF SUBSECTION U. EFFECTIVE DATE OF MONTHLY CHARGES FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL AS FOLLOWS: U. EFFECTIVE DATE OF MONTHLY CHARGES FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL These rates shall be effective on all invoices submitted by the City of College Station to users on or after October 1, 1989. r,53 Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or work of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any purpose, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby. IV. All ordinances or parts or ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only. V. And, it is ordained that this ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage in accordance with the City Charter of the City of College Station.
