HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-1871 - Ordinance - 12/12/1990ORDIM~J~C.~E NOo X871 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas (the "City") ordered an election to be held in the City on December 8, 1990, on the PROPOSITIONS hereinafter stated; and WHEREAS, the City Council has investigated all matters pertaining to said election, including the ordering, giving notice, officers, holding and making returns of said election; and WHEREAS, the election officers who held said election have duly made the returns of the result thereof, and said returns have been duly delivered to the City Council; therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, THAT: 1. The City Council officially finds and determines that said election was duly ordered; proper notice of said electlon was duly given; proper election officers were duly appointed prior to said election; said election was duly held; the City has complied with the Federal Voting Rights Act and the Texas Election Code; due returns of the result of said election have ben made and delivered; and the City Council has duly canvassed said returns, all in accordance with law and the Ordinance calling the election. 2. The city Council officially finds and determines that 3253 ballots were cast at said election, on the submitted PROPOSITIONS by the resident, qualified electors of the City, who voted at the election: PROPOBITION NO. I 2142 1079 1460 1758 VOTES: FOR VOTES: AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF $4,500,000 STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS VOTES: FOR VOTES: AGAINST: PROPOSITION NO. 2 THE ISSUANCE OF $2,000,000 WOLFPEN CREEK PARKLAND DEVELOPMENT BONDS 1512 1689 VOTES: FOR VOTES: AGAINST PROPO8ITION NO. 3 THE ISSUANCE OF $1,000,000 PARKLAND ACQUISITION BONDS Ordinance No. 1871 1625 VOTES: FOR 1584 VOTES: AGAINST Page 2 PROPOSITION NO. 4 THE ISSUANCE OF $1,000,000 IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT BONDS 1606 VOTES: FOR 1613 VOTES: AGAINST P~OPOBXTION NO. 5 THE ISSUANCE OF $2,500,000 MUNICIPAL LIBRARY BONDS 1360 VOTES: FOR 1839 VOTES: AGAINST PROPOEXTION NO. 6 THE ISSUANCE OF $300,000 PUBLIC BUILDINGS BONDS 10%3 VOTES: FOR 2174 VOTES: AGAINST PROPOSZTION NO. 7 THE ISSUANCE OF $300,000 EARLY WARNING WEATHER SYSTEM BONDS 1538 VOTES: FOR 1656 VOTES: AGAINST PROPOSITION NO. 8 THE ISSUANCE OF $75,000 IMPROVEMENTS CITY CEMETERY BONDS 1227 VOTES: FOR 1991 VOTES: AGAINST PROPOEXTIONNO. 9 THE ISSUANCE OF $3,000,000 LOTRAK PROJECT STREET IMPROVE- MENT BONDS 3. The City Council officially finds, determines, and declares the results of said election to be that each PROPOSITION so submitted has received a favorable majority vote in all respects and has carried, except PROPOSITIONS: NO. 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. 4. The aforesaid bonds receiving a favorable vote may be issued, and the aforesaid bond taxes may be levied, assessed, and collected annually as voted and as provided by law.
