AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 1991 - 1992 BUDGET OF
THE BRAZOS VALLEY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AGENCY.
WHEREAS the amount of solid waste received at the Rock
Prairie Road Landfill has exceeded the planned amount by 25%
and,
WHEREAS said increased filling rate has caused a shortage of
landfill capacity and,
WHEREAS it is most feasible to construct clay walls and
liners during the summer months and,
WHEREAS if construction is delayed until the beginning of
fiscal year 1992-1993 weather may prohibit the construction
of needed capacity in a timely manner and,
WHEREAS funds are available in the landfill fund because the
increased filling rate has also yielded revenues in excess
of the amounts anticipated.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION that the budget of the Brazos Valley
Solid Waste Management Agency be amended by adding $250,000
for the construction of needed clay liners and barrier
walls.
The distribution of the funds shall be as follows:
$202,620
for the construction of the facilities.
$ 20,380
for contingency.
$ 27,000
for soils testing and engineering
services in the preparation of a report
certifying the integrity of the
structures constructed.
