AN ORDINANCE SETTING A MINIMUM SURCHARGE FEE OF $5 00 PER
LOAD FOR UNSECURED LOADS ENTERING THE ROCK PRAIRIE ROAD
LANDFILL AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the State of Texas holds landfill s~te operators responsible for the
cleanup of materials along the route to the s~te;
WHEREAS, the City Council set the charge for unsecured loads at $5.00 per ton
~n Ordinance No 1977, passed on October 1, 1992,
WHEREAS, a per ton charge has not been a sufficient deterrent to those ind~-
wduals hauhng loads of less than one ton; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to prowde all landfill customers with an ~ncentive to
secure loads and reduce letter,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Counc, I of the City of
College Station that the charge for unsecured loads be as follows:
$5.00 per ton with a m~mmum charge of $5 00
for each unsecured load.
Th~s rate shall be effective upon passage for all solid waste entering the Rock
Praine Road landfill.
