AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE PER TON LANDFILL CHARGE FOR DISPOSAL OF
SOLID WASTE AT THE ROCK PRAIRIE ROAD LANDFILL, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS The State of Texas has increased the solid waste disposal
surcharge from 50 cents per ton to $1.50 per ton and,
WHEREAS new solid waste disposal regulations have increased to
cost of operating the Rock Prairie Road Landfill and,
WHEREAS the increased operational costs are not accounted for in
the current landfill charge of $15.00 per ton and,
WHEREAS it is desirable to provide landfill customers with an
incentive to secure loads and reduce litter.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of College Station
that the following rate schedule be adopted for the Rock Prairie
Road Landfill:
Basic per ton charge ............................ $17.50/ton
Additional charge for unsecured loads ............ $ 5.00/ton
Fees for tire disposal*
Small ......... $ 2.00/each
Large ......... $ 5.00/each
* Small tires means auto and pickup sized tires. Large tires
means truck tires,
This rate shall be effective for all solid waste entering the
Rock Prairie Road Landfill on October 1, 1992
