AN ORDINANCE RENAMING DOWLING ROAD, WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF
COLLEGE STATION, NORTH DOWLING ROAD.
WHEREAS, the City has determined that a need exists to rename Dowling Road
to avoid the potential for confusion in the delivery of emergency services (i e,
911, fire, etc ), and
WHEREAS, the property owners on the renamed street have been notified in
writing and g,ven the opportunity to suggest alternate names or otherwise
respond to the name change, and
WHEREAS, having determined that the citizens of Dowilng Road would ultimately
benefit from the change because it would reduce the potential of emergency
vehicles responding to incorrect addresses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COLLEGE STATION TEXAS that Dowiing Road as annexed by the City of
College Station be renamed North Dowling Road; and that, mindful that owners of
property abutting Dowllng Road may be affected by this change and will need to
make certain arrangements, the City Council of the C,ty of College Station further
ordains that this change shall not become effective until the first day of January,
1995.
