AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, ORDERING A
SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MAY 14, 2011 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
RECALLING MAYOR NANCY BERRY, COUNCILMEMBER KATY-MARIE LYLES,
PLACE 4, AND COUNCILMEMBER DAVE RUESINK, PLACE 6, AS REQUESTED BY
PETITION, SUBMITTED PER SECTION 96, COLLEGE STATION CITY CHARTER
WHEREAS, the City Secretary has certified a petition that has been submitted as provided in
Section 96, Recall Petitions, under Article X of the City Charter of the City of College Station,
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the issue shall be submitted to, the voters for
their consideration on May 14, 2011; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That the following issue shall be submitted for consideration and voted on in the
following format:
Shall Nancy Berry be removed from the office of Mayor by recall?
❑ For the recall of Nancy Berry
❑ Against the recall of Nancy Berry
Shall Katy-Marie Lyles be removed from the office of Councilmember, Place 4, by
recall?
❑ For the recall of Katy Marie Lyles
❑ Against the recall of Katy-Marie Lyles
Shall Dave Ruesink be removed from the office of Councihnember, Place 6, by recall?
❑ For the recall of Dave Ruesink
❑ Against the recall of Dave Ruesink
SECTION 2: That an election is hereby called for May 14, 2011, on said ordinance. If said
ordinance shall receive a majority of "For the Ordinance" votes, it shall be declared passed. Said
ordinance passing by a majority of votes shall be entered upon the records of the City of College
Station and declared by the City Council of College Station to be adopted and shall be effective
thereof. If said ordinance shall fail to receive a majority of votes, the results shall also be entered
on the records of College Station, Texas.

SECTION 3: That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.

QUE SE REALICEN UNAS ELECCIONES ESPECIALES EL 14 DE MAYO DE 2011
CON EL PROPOSITO DE CONVOCAR POR RAZONES DE RETIRADA A LA
ALCALDE NANCY BERRY; A KATY-MARIE LYLES, MIEMBRO DEL CONSEJO
OCUPANDO EL PUESTO NUMERO 4, Y A DAVE RUESINK, MIEMBRO DEL
CONSEJO OCUPANDO EL PUESTO NLTMERO 6, SOLICITADO POR PETICION,
PRESENTADO BAJO LA SECCION 96 DE LOS ESTATUTOS DE LA CIIIDAD DE
COLLEGE STATION.
CONSIDERANDO, la Secretaria de la Ciudad ha certificado una petici6n que ha lido presentada
como estipula la Secci6n 96, Peticiones para Remover de cargo, bajo el Articulo X de los
Estatutos de la Ciudad de College Station, Texas; y,
CONSIDERANDO, que el Consejo de la Ciudad ha determinado que el asunto sera presentado
ante los votantes para su consideracio'n el dia 14 de mayo de 2011; ahora, por to tanto,
CUMPLASE POR ORDEN DEL CONSEJO DE LA CIUDAD DE COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
SECCI6N 1: Que el asunto siguiente sera presentado para su consideraci6n y se votary de
acuerdo al siguiente formato:
ZSerd removida Nancy Berry del cargo de Alcalde por petici6n?
❑ A Favor de remover a Nancy Berry
❑ En contra de remover a Nancy Berry
~Serd removida Katy-Marie Lyles del cargo de miembro del Consejo, puesto numero 4,
por petici6n?
A Favor de remover a Katy Marie Lyles
En contra de remover a Katy-Marie Lyles
Sera removido Dave Ruesink del cargo de miembro del Consejo puesto numero 6 por
petici6n?
❑ A Favor de remover a Dave Ruesink
❑ En contra de remover a Dave Ruesink
SECCION 2: Que por este medio se convoca elecciones para el 14 de mayo de 2011, bajo dicha
ordenanza. Si dicha ordenanza recibiera una mayoria de votos para la categoria "A favor de la
Ordenanza" entonces se declarara aprobada. Dicha ordenanza aprobada por mayoria de votos
entrara en los registros de la Ciudad de College Station y serA declarada como adoptada por el
Consejo de la Ciudad de College Station y serA efectiva a partir de ese momento. Si dicha

ordenanza no recibiera una mayoria de votos, entonces los resultados serAn ingresados en los
registros de College Station, Texas.
SECCI6N 3: Que esta ordenanza tomarA efecto inmediatamente a partir del momento de su
aprobacion.
