This new software program allows you, the contractor, to complete the most common steps in the construction process at your convenience and all online. The following are just a few of the features you can access: the project’s name, location, contact information for the owner, engineer, architect, etc., as well as staff’s review comments on all the plans submitted for the project. http://pzonline.cstx.gov To access new projects go to and search for the project by name. Page 12 çÎÑÈÐØôÊÊÈØ Annexation Update As the population of College Station grows, our City gradually expands in order to ensure the well being of surrounding ar- eas, as well as to maintain the vitality of our city. In March of this year, College Station completed the annexation of six ar- eas, totaling 1,526 acres, under the exempt annexation stat- ute. The ordinance went into effect on March 29th. Currently, annexation is a process that takes about three years from start to finish. One of the initial steps in the proc- ess is the adoption of an annexation plan that identifies the areas targeted for annexation. Property owners are notified of the City's intent to annex early in the process so that they have ample time to address any issues with the City. On the third anniversary of the date the City Council adopts the an- nexation plan, the property is annexed. However, there are two exceptions that are exempted from this process. One is when properties petition to be annexed. The other exception appliesto annexations that include fewer than 100 separate tracts of land on which one or more resi- dential dwellings are located. This second exemption refers to the annexation process completed in March. While annexation generally has a negative connotation, it is mutually beneficial for both the annexed areas and the City. City services are immediately provided to the areas, and residents are covered by all City ordinances. For the City, areas for future growth, and our tax base and revenue sources are secured. At the June 12th City Council Meeting, Planning and Development Services announced that they are looking into annexing additional areas surrounding College Station.
