CITY COUNCIL AUDIT COMMITTEE

AUDIT COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Berry and Councilmembers Fields and Mooney
STAFF PRESENT: City Auditor Ty Elliot, City Manager David Neeley, City Secretary Sherry Mashburn,
Deputy City Secretary Tanya McNutt, Chief Financial Officer Jeff Kersten
Regular Agenda Item No. 1 - Call to order.
Mayor Berry called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.
Regular Agenda Item No. 2 - Presentation, possible action, and discussion of minutes for the audit
committee meeting held August 8, 2011.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jess Fields and a second by Councilmember Karl
Mooney, the Audit Committee voted three (3) for and zero (0) opposed, to approve the August 8, 2011
Audit Committee minutes. The motion carried unanimously.
Regular Agenda Item No 3 - Presentation, possible action, and discussion regarding the Convention
Visitor's Bureau Audit report.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Karl Mooney and a second by Councilmember Jess
Fields, the Audit Committee voted three (3) for and zero (0) opposed, to recommend approval of the
CVB Audit report to the City Council and the CVB to provide an update at the September 8, 2011
Council Meeting of the progress being made on Policy & Procedures. The motion carried unanimously.
Regular Agenda Item No. 4 - Presentation, possible action, and discussion regarding future agenda
items.
Ty Elliott stated he will be bringing forward an outline of next year's audit plan and would like to
discuss changes in the audit process, possibly presenting audit reports in executive session (Potential
Fraud with Auditee). Legal will need to research if that's possible.
Regular Agenda ItemNo. 5 - Adiourn.
Hearing no objections, Mayor Berry adjourned the meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011.
