JULY 25, 1960
Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Boyett, Landiss, Anderson,
Sorrels, Smith; City Manager Boswell; City Attorney
Dillon; City Secretary McGinnis.
Visitors present: B. J. Kling, W. D. Fitch, representative of
of the Bryan Eagle.
Councilman Orr's request to be excused from this meeting
was granted.
On motion by Counciimaji Sorrels, seconded by Councilman
Anderson, the mayor was authorized to renew for the city a note
in the amount of $10,500 with the College Station State Bank.
On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman
Boyett, Ordinance No. 299, an ordinance ordering certain street
improvements, was passed and approved.
On motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Anderson, Ordinance No. 300, an ordinance ordering certain
{ street improvements, was passed and approved.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman
Boyett, Ordinance No. 301, an ordinance changing the names of
certain streets, was passed and approved.
On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman
Smith, -the city manager was directed to mail notices to property
owners on Walton Drive and Kyle Avenue that assessments for
street improvements will be due and payable within 30 days after
the city's final acceptance of the work.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman
Landiss, the request of G. G. McDonald to rezone certain peoperty
on highway 6 was referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman
Landiss, the request of the Humble Oil Refining Company to
erect a sign at McCall's Service Station on Highway 6 was re-
ferred to the Planning and Zoning,Commission.

" On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman
Landiss, Mayor Ernest Langford, Councilman J. A. Orr, and City
Manager Ran Boswell were reappointed to membership on the board
of the Brazos Area Planning Corporation.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman
Landiss, the city manager was authorized to install 350 feet of
6 -inch sanitary sewer in the Tauber Addition.
On motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman
Landiss, the city manager and the city attorney were directed
to file charges against all owners of property not properly
connected with 'the sanitary sewer system.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman
Landiss, the city manager and the city attorney were requested
to consider the aspects of possible time payments for paving
assessments and to report at the next regular meeting.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman
Smith, the city manager was instructed to move expeditiously
on the program concerning pending street improvements and the
correction of drainage problems from the Woodson Village Addition
to a point beyond the city limits.
The council adjourned subject to call.
