College Station city manager William King Cole, 42,
of College Station died Friday evening in a local hospital.
He had been city manager since 1985.
Funeral services will be
held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at
the First Baptist Church of
College Station, with the
Revs. Malcolm Bane and
Bill Magee officiating.
Burial will be in the Col-
lege Station Cemetery.

Cole, a native of Ran-
ger, received a bachelor'
degree in political scien
from North Texas Stat
University, and was a cap-
tain in the U.S. Army Spe-
cial Forces in the Vietnam War.
Cole was a resident of College Station for three years.
Before coming to College Station, Cole had served as
assistant city manager of Denton and city manager of
Bellaire.
Cole was a director of the Texas City Management
Association and dean of the city management develope-
ment course at Texas A &M. He was a member of the
International City Management Association, a former
Rotary Club member, and a member of the First Baptist
Church of College Station.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Cole of College Sta-
tion; two sons, Hunter Cole and Scott Cole, both of
College Station; his parents, R.V. and Dorothy Cole o
Garland; and a sister, Karen Cole Owen of Dallas.
