HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/08/1970 - Special Minutes - City CouncilMINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS April 8, 1970 THE STATE OF TEXAS X COUNTY OF BRAZOS X On this the 8th day of April, 1970, the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, convened in special session at the regular meeting place thereof with the following members present, to -wit: D. A. Anderson, Mayor O. M. Holt, Councilman James H. Dozier, Councilman Bill J. Cooley, Councilman C. H. Ransdell, Councilman and the following absent: Councilmen Dan R. Davis and Joseph J. McGraw, constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the following: Councilman Holt introduced a Resolution and order and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Cooley, and the motion carrying with it the adoption of the Resolution and order prevailed by the following vote: AYES: all NOES: none. The Resolution is as follows: There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 7th day of April, 1970 for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 981 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said election received the following votes: FOR MAYOR D. Stone 1 Page 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law, and that said election was held in accordance with law, and that D. A. Anderson was duly elected Mayor of said city at said election and James H. Dozier, Cecil B. Ryan and C. H.
