Mayor Larry Ringer retired after 10 years of service as the Mayor of College Station.
Mayor Lynn Mctlhaney was elected as the first woman mayor in College Station.
The College Station Business Center was completed.
Sandstone Park, the second handicap accessible park was dedicated.
Pebble Creek Park, the third handicap accessible Park in College Station was completed.
Wolf Pen Creek Youth Theater was established.
The first College Station Teen Advisory Board was formed.
The Olympic Torch passed through College Station.
First Annual Holiday on the Brazos took off.
Southwood Swimming Pool was renamed to "Cindy Hallaran" Swimming Pool.
Fairview Park was renamed to "Luther Jones" Park.

day of each month. These free workshops are provided to
increase public awareness on such information as car mainte-
nance, will and tax preparation, nutrition, and other related
matters.
COMPETITIVE BASKETBALL& CO-REC VOLLEYBALL: Lincoln
Recreation Center offers Community Fall and Spring Leagues
for men, women and co -rec divisions.
FACILITY USE MEMBERSHIP CARD: Annual adultmembership
is $6.00. This card is needed to use all equipment.
BOYS & GIRLS CLUB MEMBERSHIPS: Memberships are offered
for $8.00. The Boys & Girls Club meets Monday - Friday from
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm atthe Lincoln Recreation Center. Tutorials
are offered Monday - Friday, from 4 pm - 7 pm.
REFERRALS: Referrals are made, W.I.C., Planned Parenthood,
Food Stamps, Job Training Partnerships Act, Section VIII Hous-
ing.
COMMODITIES: Food distribution every month to qualified
families. For more information call the Center.
IMMUNIZATION: The Brazos Val ley Health Department offers
immunizations every Tuesday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. For

ADULT PROBATION: The Brazos Valley Adult Probation meets

HOW TO JOIN: Registration forms available at the Teen Center
or Conference Center.
HOW MUCH: September -May $15.00. Non - members $2.00 at
thedooreach Saturday night. No charge for 5th -8th graders after
school, but registration form required. 5th graders, not allowed
in the Saturday night events. PARK BUCKS can be used for
membershipfees.
TEEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Consists of strong leaders and
rolemodels. The whole operation depends on the enthusiasm
and follow- through of the Teen Advisory Committee. Teens
learn the value of sharing responsibilities and their municipal
government and its processes.
PROSPECTIVE OUTCOME: Shenanigan's Teen Center provides
a place for teens to gather, under adult supervision, to interact
with peers and share experiences, as well as responsibilities,
while maintaining the full support and trust of the community
and the College Station City Council.

Reservations must be made by 4 pm, 48 hours prior to the

SENIOR CITIZENS: The senior citizens program at the Lincoln
Center provides a nutrition program with meals for all persons
60 years of age and older. Also, daily programs such as arts
and crafts, dominoes, bingo and many more activities are

The College Station Conference Center is the ideal place to have
that special event or meeting, easily accessible to TAMU and
hotels.
The Center is available for rental to any individual or group, with
accommodations from 10-400 in various rooms, day or evening.
Tables, chairs, podiums, movie screens, flip charts, audio
visual equipment, piano, kitchen, ice machine, refrigerators,
microwaves, conventional oven, coffee pots, patios, and a
1,420 square foot deck are available.
Rates and fees depend on the type of group utilizing the facility.
Reservations should be made one to three months in advance.
A deposit is required upon reservation.

WHAT IS IT? An after school recreational facility for College
Station students in grades 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th.
POOL PARTY PACKAGES
*The Pavilion Party allows you to provide your own food, cake
and beverages while we reserve tables for your party at the
College Station pool of your choice.
*Theme parties provide an opportunity for you to relax and let us
take care of the party preparations. The party package in-
cludes plates, cups, napkins, forks, party favors, cake, lemon-
ade, and admission to the pool. AGeneral Birthday Party does
not include party favors. Theme parties may also be catered
