A Hang -out for College Station students in grades 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. WHERE? Located adjacent to the Conference Center. WHO? Run by the City of College Station Parks and Recreation Department's Conference Center staff, along with adult attendants and an advisory committee of teenagers. HOURS: September through May: Monday- Friday after school, 3:00 -5:30 pm, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grades. Friday or Saturday nights, 7:00 -10:00 pm, 6th, 7th, & 8th grades. HOW TO JOIN: Applications for membership available at the Teen Center or Conference Center. Capacity crowd is 150 each night, first come first served. HOW MUCH: September -May $15.00 (prorated based on month joined). $2.00 for non - members at the door each Friday and Saturday nights. No charge for 5th -8th after school. No charge for membership for 5th grade, but allowed in after school only. PARK BUCKS can be used for membership fees. TEEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Consists of strong leaders and role models. The whole operation depends on the enthusiasm and follow- through of the Teen Advisory Committee. Teens learn the value of sharing responsibilities and their municipal government and its processes. Interviews and selections are held periodically throughout the year. PROSPECTIVE OUTCOME: Shenanigan's Teen Center provides a place for teens to gather, under adult supervision, to interact with peers and share experiences, as well as responsibilities, while maintaining the full support and trust of the community and the College Station City Council. AQUATICS AWARD The College Station Aquatics Operation for the fourth year in a row was the recipient of the "National Pool and Waterpark Gold Elite Safety Award" for absolutely incredible water safety operations. SUPER GUARD AWARD City of College Station Lifeguard, Laura Grimes, a first year lifeguard for City of College Station won this year's female "Super Guard" championship.
