College Station's Special Facilities Superintendent, Charles
Szabuniewicz (left) was presented the NSPI /Greg
Louganis Aquatic Achievement Award for the develop-
ment of the Texas Super Pool Guard Contest. In addition to
a monetary award, his name has been inscribed on a pla-
que at the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida. Randy Schrecengost, formerly Col-
lege Station's pool manager, was a co- winner of the
award. Randy presently is a commercial energy efficiency
representative with the Lower Colorado River Authority.

City Manager's Awards
Larry Brown
Assistant City Manager Ron Ragland honored several parks employees with City Manager's Choice Awards. Ethan
Wingate, assistant pool manager at Southwood Pool, Danny Jones, a draftsman for the parks planning office, and
Larry Brown, a swim coach for College Station Parks Department, were awarded jackets for their helpful attitude
toward the public as well as fellow workers.
Members of the parks maintenance crew who were involved in a series of television public service announcements
entitled, "Play Happy - Play Safe ", were awarded caps for their dedication to service and their creativity in getting
the PSA'S produced.

Picnic pavilions, softball fields and recreation equipment may be
rented at the Parks and Recreation Department. All reservations are
made at the Parks and Recreation Office and payment must be
made at the time of the reservation.
PARK RULES
• Advertising in City Parks is prohibited.
• Park curfew for all parks: 1:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Dogs must be on leashes at all times.
• All wildlife in City Parks is protected.
• It is unlawful to lifter in City Parks.
• It is unlawful to cut or destroy vegetation.
• All vehicles must park in designated areas.
• It is unlawful to wade or swim in Park ponds,
• All firearms and airguns are prohibited,
• All vendors must have an approved permit.
