N/A Agenda Item #5: Possible action and discussion to approve meeting minutes of regular meeting of June 6, 2011. Minutes were approved. (LBH/lsh) Agenda Item #6: Report from HPC Chairperson. Susan reported that a list of choices for the next 􀁜􀁈􀁄􀁕􀂶􀁖􀀃􀀨􀁛􀁓􀁏􀁒􀁕􀁌􀁑􀁊􀀃􀀫􀁌􀁖􀁗􀁒􀁕􀁜􀀃􀀯􀁘􀁑􀁆􀁋􀀃􀀯􀁈􀁆􀁗􀁘􀁕􀁈􀀃 􀁖􀁈􀁕􀁌􀁈􀁖􀀃􀁋􀁄􀁖􀀃􀁅􀁈􀁈􀁑􀀃􀁆􀁒􀁐􀁓􀁌􀁏􀁈􀁇􀀑􀀃􀀶􀁋􀁈􀀃􀁄􀁖􀁎􀁈􀁇􀀃􀁐􀁈􀁐􀁅􀁅􀁈􀁕􀁖􀀃􀁗􀁒􀀃􀁙􀁒􀁗􀁈􀀃for 10 from the 22 choices. A motion was made and carried to cancel the August meeting. (EW/lv) Agenda Item #7: Report from Heritage Programs Coordinator. Anne also reported on the meeting with City Secertary Sherry Mashburn and Shelley Majors who are preparing the mandatory meeting for all citizen committee members. Anne reported that we need to bring the HPC by-􀁏􀁄􀁚􀁖􀀃􀁘􀁓􀀃􀁗􀁒􀀃 􀁖􀁓􀁈􀁈􀁇􀀃􀁚􀁌􀁗􀁋􀀃􀁗􀁋􀁒􀁖􀁈􀀃􀁕􀁈􀁆􀁒􀁐􀁐􀁈􀁑􀁇􀁈􀁇􀀃􀁅􀁜􀀃􀁗􀁋􀁈􀀃􀁆􀁌􀁗􀁜􀀃􀁖􀁈􀁆􀁕􀁈􀁗􀁄􀁕􀁜􀂶􀁖􀀃􀁒􀁉􀁉􀁌􀁆􀁈􀀑􀀃Susan and Anne will work on this sub-committee. Agenda Item #8: Possible action and discussion on Preservation Excellence Awards. This item was tabled until the September meeting. Agenda Item #9: Report on 75th Anniversary plans. Agenda Item #10: Committee Reports: 􀂇 Hot Rocks Cook Off/Native American Interpretive Path 􀂱 Ernie Wright, Lou Hodges, Anne announced that the Texas A&M Library Diversity group has awarded Hot Rocks a $300 grant. Anne continues to work with Dr. Thoms to find funding for the six tribal representatives from the Tap-Pilam Coahuiltecan tribe from south of San Antonio. The Department of the Army is funding 28 tribal representatives ($28,000) from federally recognized tribes. Anne will schedule a meeting with Dr. Thoms, Steve Beachy, David Schmitz, Ernie and Lou. 􀂇 Historic Marker Program 􀂱 Meredith Waller 􀂇 Meredith announced that she will not be renewing her term on the HPC. Susan and Anne thanked her for her many years of service on the committee. 􀂇 Exploring History Lunch Lecture Series 􀂱 Susan Irza, Anne Boykin, Marci Rodgers The July program will feature Robert Borden, opnions editor from The Eagle. 􀂇 Sponsorship Liaison & Exploring History Hosts 􀂱 James McGinnis, Hillary Jessup 􀀫􀁈􀁕􀁌􀁗􀁄􀁊􀁈􀀃􀀳􀁕􀁒􀁊􀁕􀁄􀁐􀁖􀀃􀁄􀁑􀁇􀀃􀀶􀁋􀁒􀁕􀁗􀁈􀁈􀂶􀁖􀀃􀀦􀁄􀁉 􀁰􀀃􀁚􀁌􀁏􀁏􀀃􀁅􀁈􀀃􀁆􀁒-sponsoring the July lecture. 􀂇 Oral History Transcription Project 􀂱 Lou Hodges Lou continues to work on this tedious project as time allows. Haley Joines, Heritage Programs intern, completed working on the 13 oral history binders. 􀂇 Landmark Commission (Liaison) 􀂱 Susan Irza Nothing new to report. 􀂇 75th Anniversary Planning Committee 􀂱 Linda Harvell (chair), Patricia Cleere, Jerry Cooper, Susan Irza; Linda reported that the committee continues working on the event scheduled for Oct. 18-19, 2013. She also reported that Mayor White spoke during the Council Meeting of June 23 at the hear visitors portion. He officially announced the event and invited the council to participate. The 75th committee plans a pot luck luncheon and meeting in September where they will invite the council and city managers. 􀂇 College Station Timeline & College Station History Book Advisor 􀂱 Jerry Cooper; Jerry has completed the listing of mayors, council members and election tallies.
