Glenn reviewed the agenda items for the upcoming Council Meetings.
Submitted Topics for Discussion:
Grants- Jeff briefly relayed Tom's message to encourage departments to seek grants
to fund various programs and operational needs.
Insurance Wating Period Change- Julie discussed the current waiting period for
new employee to qualify for health insurance. After a brief discussion, general
consensus was to alter the policy to allow new employees to qualify for insurance by
the first of the month following date of hire.
III. Housekeeping Items:
TMRS Legislative Agenda for 2003- Julie discussed a TMRS legislative
change that would allow employees to return to work for a city from which
he/she has retired following a brief wating period. The management team
considered the possible impact of such a change for the City of College Station.
Benefit Brochures/interview- Julie distributed copies of the Employee Benefit
Brochure. Brochure will be updated to reflect change in the health insurance
waiting period for new employees.
Management Team Meeting and Dealine for Coversheetd for the January 9
Council Meeting- Glenn informed the Management Team that there would not
be a management team meeting the week of December 25. However,
coversheets, for the January 9 Council Meeting, are due by 5:00p.m. December
27. The next management team meeting will be December 31,2002for
