Is Sent To
Gatesville
Bill Brayton, a 17- year -old
Bryan youth, has been sent to
Gatesville State School for
Boys after he violated the 1
terms of local punishment.
Brayton and two other
youths had been sentenced to
spend week days in Brazos
County Jail and weekends at
home after they were found
guilty of destroying private
and federal property here. The
trio had gone on a spree of
destroying and damaging mail
boxes.
Judge John M. Barron gave
the three the choice of spend-
ing the time in jail here or
being sent to Gatesville. They
also were required to be in
their homes by 9 p.m. each
,night, not to be seen in each
others company, not to drive
cars after dark and to study
during their time in jail.
Judge Barron said Brayton
was seen at Bill Hughes' Res-
taurant at 1 a.m. Saturday,
that he was reported to be in-
toxicated and that he created
a disturbance.
"I hated to do it," Barron
stated, "but there was no oth-
er choice. The boy was al-
ready on double probation,
and there was no other place
to send him."
