For Basketball
The A &M Consolidated High
School Girl's Basketball Team
was honored by the Bengal
Boosters Club with an Awards
Banquet Wednesday evening at
Clayton's Restaurant.
Members of the team and
their mothers were seated at
tables beautifully decorated
with red roses and miniature
basketballs.
The invocation was given by
Miss Penney Hancock. The
principal speaker for the even-
ing was Randy Matson who
told of his experiences as a
participating athlete is sport
events in various countries.
The girl's coach, Mrs. Charles
Slovak, presented an award to
each team member, and the
Senior and Junior Varsity
Team Captains in turn honor-
ed Mrs. Slovak with a gift
from the team.
Charmille Bridges was
named "outstanding girl ath-
lete" of A &M Consolidate High
School. Miss Bridges and Kel-
ley Dozier were named to the
first string district team, and
Caroline Stewart will play on
the second string district team.
