Both military ammunition and commercial -type explosives were involved; many of the items checked were hazardous and could have inflicted death or severe injury to unwary persons. As a group, Americans are the greatest souvenir collectors in the world; no one knows how many explo- sive- loaded souvenir hand grenades, rockets, mortar shells, eto., are to be found in homes in your area. Along with being collectors, Americans are quite curious. Curiousity with regard to explosive items often leads to death. Under Department of Defense Joint Service Agree- ment, the United States Army is responsible for the safe disposal of all unexploded explosive items which are not on Air Force or Navy property. To perform this work, the US Army has small highly trained explo- sive disposal units throughout the United States. The 47th Ordnance Detachment (ED), Fort Hood, Texas, provides disposal service to your area. This service includes: (1) The safe disposal of all unexploded military items of an explosive nature. (2) Rendering assistance (on request) to civil authorities when commercial explosives are an immediate hazard to human life or property. w (3) Conducting courses of instruction for civil- ians. The above service is provided FREE to civil auth- ority. Commercial firms and profit - making enterprises such as junk dealers, may avail themselves of this service at cost. 4' O 1> cd 0 4 0 , 0 .41 . 0 'd I.) l Q) a! co m +• (11 ' • rm r•4 0) R t ,'4 •r4 0 • O O 0 U • a1 i d •• + b 14 U id ' 1 q 4 C ° 3 ti U v cg p i • + U a) Ti 0 co tdW 41 01 r o a o O • E c» r w 1 3 r 0 4.1 H .o 3-4 N 0 4< d 4L1 O r-7 F 1 w - 4-' Oft PI Y + a O H c 0 0 '1 •r•1 .0 ra pi 0 U m to 4-4 0) +a 0 (1) •■i 0 +3 .0 4.1 1.4- / I-o Q i H O ' - i 0 r\ c •1 a) 'd 0 f+ P. }?+ 0 0 w 9 0 0 14 O 1 a1 0) 0 +) 1 0 .54 El ' 0) 4•• 4i* 0 CO v 0 m .- Q) ') o 0 r +, a 0 o . r= i 4' m g 0) F t go m , H •• 0) 4) 0) W 0 '---, <D H 0 0 cd O a L) H 0 07 .14 s j 4 '0 P . , .4 .r4 •ri f:.' 0) 0 •ri 43 •ri f: r 'd +a qa +• + • H 0) 0 0 +3 A U a1 4-< MI n 1 0) k 0) 03 2 O H 3 • r fi .o - m 0 r 1 c 0 P r U U O 0 a1 b a) 4-4 F-4 ›.
