The older coin is a US dime dated 1836 dates to the beginnings of the Republic of Texas. The dime,
officially known as a "Bust type ", was minted from 1809 to 1837, and features a capped bust of Liberty
(facing left) and the date on the obverse. An eagle, grasping arrows and olive branch faces to the left on
the reverse. It was, at the time, the second lowest denomination silver coin produced in the US (the
silver half -dime, worth five cents, was also coined in silver; cents and half cents were of copper).

The second coin, is a quarter dated 2010 and is the first in the "National Parks" series, featuring Hot
Springs National Park in Arkansas. Hot Springs, set aside or "reserved" in 1832 by President Andrew
Jackson. As such, it is the first or oldest of the National Parks, predating Yellowstone National Park by
forty years.
