A. Discussion of Tornado Warning System
1. Objective - Media to get information to
the public;
2. Immediate evacuation of danger areas;
3. What the Media can do;
B. Discussion of Tornado Warning Plan
1. Warning comes from NOAA;
2. Local Government has authority to issue
advisories;
3. Primary method - Local Weather Radio -
Tone Alert System;
4. EBS - can be activated by Local Civil
Defense;
Warning can come from National, State or
Local Government;
(Troy Kimmel appointed to outline procedure
for activating Local EB System;
5. Discussion of Cable TV - Purpose: to give
the public Emergency information. This to
be controlled by both Police Departments
(Bryan and College Station). Bob Carter
appointed to look into this matter with
North Bardell;
6. Use of local Radio Stations for release
of Emergency information. Diane Lusyene
appointed to look into this matter with
Troy Kimmel.
C. Hazardous Material Plan
1. Fire Dept. Responds immediately;
2. Police Dept. will contact Media.
