PRESENT: Sam Saxon, Herman Rice, Jim Bland, Robert Ray,
Russ McDonald, Mason Newton, Jack Cornish,
Fred Forsthoff, Bob Maddox, Charles Phelps,
Ronald Taylor, Doug Landua, Jake Canglose,
Jerry Strong, Mr. Ogden.
PRESIDING: Jake Canglose
PROCEEDINGS: Presentation by Mr. Ogden on possible measures
to increase safety of oil operations in the cities.
1. Design of vent lines on oil tank
batteries.
2. Obtaining spill control material to
soak up oil spills.
3. Notification of Fire Departments the
day before work -over crew on rig.
4. No tank trucks in City Limits from
7 :30 A.M. till 9 :00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M.
to 6:00 P.M.
5. Know where to obtain earth moving equip-
ment immediately.
6. Thunderstorm alert for Fire Departments.
7. Oil well sites should have chemical
extinguishers.
8. Testing of Blow -out Preventers should
be a requirement.
9. Mr. Ogden is Chairman of The Chamber
of Commerce Petroleum Energy Committee.
The decision was to have an Emergency Exercise
October 31, 1982. To involve a bus and truck
carrying hazardous materials. Time 1 :00 to
5:00 P.M.
Some things to be accomplished:
1. Complete annex to Hazardous Materials
Emergency Plan.
2. Inventory earth moving equipment.
3. Locate possible sources to fill dirt.
4. Look into possibility of obtaining
and storing Fire Extinguisher Material
for oil fires (6% Light Water).
