Meeting - Monday, June 5, 1978 - 5 p.m.
COURTHOUSE - CIVIL DEFENSE OFFICE
PRESENT - George Huebner, Charles Phelps, Harry Stiteler,
Warren Heffington, Ben Wormeli
Due to illness - Jake Canglose was absent
Topics Discussed:
1. For Tornado warning, the Tone Alert Radio System
was tested each Monday morning at 9 a.m., April 10
thru May 29. There are 16 units in the schools and
police stations.
2. Brazos County Hazardous Materials Emergency Plan,
May, 1978. -
This plan has been completed. It was reviewed and
discussed at a meeting of Emergency Team Members,
May 30, 1 p.m. in the Medallion Room. The personnel
to compose of the Emergency News Task Team will be
identified soon.
3. The Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Plan was updated
and completed in May.
4. The Citizens Band Radio Plan was prepared in May.
It is complete except for determining the name of the
operator that will be assigned to a specific shelter.
5. Captain Warren Heffington (MOBDES) was on active duty
May 22 thru June 2. He worked on completing the RACES
and CB Plans and preparing a recap of the 1976 National
Fallout Shelter Survey in Brazos County.
