Courthouse - Civil Defense Office Present: George Huebner, Charles Phelps, Carroll Bell, Jake Canglose, and Ben Wormeli. Jake Canglose Presided: Items - 1. The updated directory of Brazos County Civil Defense personnel is about complete. 2. Brazos County, Bryan and College Station Disaster Emergency Plans are revised and complete. 3. Organizational charts have been prepared. a. Brazos County, Bryan and College Station Disaster Emergency Planning Organization. b. Bryan/College Station Localized Disaster - Emergency Chart. c. Brazos County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Organizational Chart. d. Brazos County Sheriff's Office Emergency Communications System. e. Brazos County NAWAS Warning Plan (National Emergency). 4. Preparation for Disaster Emergency Exercise to be conducted October 25th thru the first 3 weeks of November. Chuck Harrison, who has moved from State Office in Austin to the Federal Office in Denton, will be here. The minutes of the May 7, 1976 Council Meeting were reviewed and will serve as an outline to use. The City and County Plans and Maps will be sent to Austin to prepare for our use. 5. There is interest by the local hospitals to participate in the exercise. Their accreditation involves this. 6. F4 1977 - Program Policy was discussed. There is some relaxation from original restrictions at the National level. (attached: May 7, 1976 Minutes) BRAZOS CIVIL DEFENSE COUNCIL MEETING May 7, 1976 - Friday 9:30 A.M. Present: Chuck Harrison, Austin, Texas; Judge W.R. Vance, Louis Odle, North Bardell, Jake Canglose, James Presswood, Ed Burns, Charles Phelps, Lee Roy Johnson, Bill Koehler, and Ben Women. Presider: Jake Canglose Chuck Harrison has been in Brazos County this week (May 3 - 7) reviewing our plans and annexes for a Disaster Emergency Exercise for Brazos County, Bryan, College Station and TA LJ. He presented an Exercise Proposal and outlined exercise Simulators by municipal departments ie: fire, police, public works, Sheriff, schools, hospital, etc. After review and discussion, it was decided to postpone this Exercise from May to September. This.. w 31 provide time to complete the plans and Annexes along w +h agencies and. people to be prepared. to conduct a productive event. agencies Pr' F��' p Chuck Harrison will provide a schedule of items needed in our preparation. ;ie are to: 1. Take SOPts back to municipal departments with Chuck's _ suggestions for revision and collect updated SOPts. 2. Get (updated) Brazos County, Bryan, and College Station maps to Chuck Harrison in Austin. He will have them blown up and mounted on styrofoam backing for - use in exercise. Determine how many of each maps needed. The negative will be given to-us to use. 3. Get Pictures for the front cover of each plan, Brazos County, Bryan, College Station and TAMU. Send Plans 4. Send Plans, SOPts, Naps and Pictures to Chuck Harrison by by Aug. 10th August 10th to be compiled and prepared for our September 1976 Disaster Emergency Exercise. 5. Chuck Harrison will provide us by June with a date and time schedule for the September exercise activities.
