REPLY TO
ATTN OF RTTS 9 Jul 73
SUBJECT: Air Force Reserve Information
TO All Civil Defense Regions
All Civil Defense State Offices
All Reservists Assigned to the 9006th ARS (CD MOBDES)
1. Under the provisions of Air Force Manual 35 -3 an Air Force Reservist
assigned to the CD MOBDES Program may only earn the following inactive
duty points: 3 points per week; 6 points per month; 13 points per quarter.
Not more than 60 inactive duty points may be credited during any 1
retirement year. This does not include points earned while on active
duty nor does it include the 15 gratuitous points awarded to each Air
Force Reservist while participating in the CD MOBDES Program.
2. Reference the Air Force Procedures, Annex E -2, for the CD MOBDES
Program. The Chapter titled "Annual, Special, School and Emergency
Civil Defense Active Duty for Training Tours" has a sentence which is
incorrect. Under paragraph 2B the sentence reading "At present . . . .
same fiscal year" is incorrect and should be deleted. School tours and
annual tours may be performed during the same fiscal year.
3. When an Air Force Reservist applies for a tour of active duty with
the Civil Defense Staff College, Battle Creek, MI, be sure that a
completed DCPA Form 435 is approved prior to the submission of AF Form
1289.
