Dear Mr. Canglose:
The 9412th Air Force Reserve Recovery 9luadron was activated at
Lasterwood Airport in July 1961. The purpo se of this unit is to
recover military aircraft which for some reason cannot re turn to its
home base.
In case of an attack on this country the reservist that man this
squadron woul d need to travel to Easterwood Airport. Most of our men
are within a radius of 75 miles of Bryan.
Each reservist carries a Reserve I.D. Card. In case our men are
stopped they will be able to show these cards. These cards are con—
trolled b y number and it is impossible to send you copies. They are
white cards 3i by 2- inches. They have red lettering and red letters.
The front of the card has the rese rvi.st's picture, his rank and
signature. The top line reads: ARMED FCRCE6 CF THE UNITED LiTATLE.
The back of the card has right and left index finger prints, date of
birth, weight, height, color hair, color eyes, blood type and date of
issue.
Please let me know if this information if insufficient.
