We received many calls from private citizens who offer- ed their homes, churches, private building owners, local, state, and federal governmental agencies offering the use of buildings and facilities. Fraternal organizations, churches and individ- uals offered their services. I would also commend the efforts of our local City, County, and University Officials, General Telephone, American Red Cross, De- partment of Public Safety, REACT, Radio Amateurs, and RACES, In- formation and Hospitality Center of Brazos Valley, the Public School systems, and other agencies in both the private and public sector who prepared for the possible onslaught of a large scale evacuation of the upper Texas coast. The response and cooperation that is received from all sectors of our community determines the efficiency of emergency planning and disaster operations. In our community we are indeed fortu- nate to have this type of cooperation and response. Respectfully, ake Canglose County Director and Chairman Brazos County Civil Defense
