Meeting: Monday, September 4', 1989 7:00 P.M.

Dear REACTer:
This month has flown by and we will once again be having our meeting on a holiday. We
have some things to discuss that can't wait, so please try hard to be there.
The Area V Meeting is tentatively scheduled for October 7, 1989 and at this time we
may have to change because Guadalupe County has a fair that day. That is one of the
things we need to discuss.
The other thing is the Brazos Feast is on Sept. 22, 23 & 24, 1989 and we need to make
a schedule of the workers. Help'I!II
No ball game work for most unless you want to work directly for Mr. Sayers.

Some of the activities the team has been involved in since last news letter are:
August 1, 1989, 7:30 P.M. We volunteered to help look for the drowning victims;
served coffee, water, gatorade & coke until 2nd victim was found about 2:00 A.M..
August 10, 1989, 6:30 P.M. Major 1050 Tabor Rd. & 974, 2 injuries, traffic control.
August 11, 1989, 12:30 A.M. - 4:OOA.M. House fire 1000 Groesbeck,Bryan, Total
loss. We served water, gatorade and cookies.
August 25, 1989, 4:00 P.M. major 1050, Briarcrest and Frontage Rd., Bryan
2 injuries, traffic control.
August 25, 1989, 6:30 P.M. House fire 902 W. 20th, Bryan, Total loss. We
served water, gatorade & coke, helped with traffic control.
August 28, 1989, 6:30 P.M., Helped Bryan P.D. with traffic control and gatorade
at shooting site 2900 Blk. Oklahoma , Bryan.
Total 5 accidents, 2 fires, 1. cattle round -up, 1 drowning, 1 shooting

I know the meetings are sometimes hard to remember, hard to leave a busy schedule to
come, but please make every effort to attend our meetings. We all need to pull
together if we are to make the team work. There are alot of people depending on us
to function and we cannot without help from the team members.

Dear REACTer:
Time sure flies when you are busy and I do mean busy. It seems like the last
meeting was last week.
Thanks very much for all those who worked at the Brazos Folk Fest over the week-
end. I don't know about everyone else, but my feet were killing me. The weather
was cool Saturday and that might have kept some people away.
Area V meeting will be Saturday, October 7, 1989 so please make plans to be there
as support and to help. It would be so nice to have all the team come.

Some of the major activities the team has been involved in are:
August 29, 1989 '8:00 P. M.
Brazos County REACT responded to house fire on Camille St., College Station,
the garage was badly damaged. We served water & gatorade.
August 31, 1989 6:00 A. M.
Brazos County REACT responded to Major 1050 East By Pass, Pepsi truck hit Old
Reliance bridge and turned over. What a mess. We helped with traffic control.
September 9, 1198 2:00 P. M.
Brazos County REACT responded to major 1050 Wellborn Rd. & FM 2818. 3 cars
involved & several iniuries. We helped with traffic control.
September 21, 1989 7:00 P. M.
Brazos County REACT responded to house fire at 1709 N. Texas Ave., Bryan,
total loss on inside. We served water & gatorade.
September 22, 1989 3:00 P. M.
Brazos County REACT responded to saw dust pile fire at TAMU on 2818.
Served water & gatorade.
Also responded to grass fire on Cole Lane, but situation was under control
and lady at site took care of water for firemen.
September 22, 23 & 24, 1989
Brazos County REACT worked traffic control /parking cars at Brazos Folk Fest
at College Station Central Park.
We responded to a total of 6 fires and 9 accidents.

Please remember this is your news letter so please let me know if you have something
to put in it.
We may be getting another van as Pres. Shearer has talked with GTE about it.
There are no known activities coming up soon so maybe we can get a CPR class going
or some other type of training going to keep us informed and up to date.
