Meeting: Monday August 7, 1989 7:00 P.M.

Dear REACTer:
Time flies and it's time for a meeting again. I hope more come than the last meeting.
This has been a hectic month. We lost Gaylan & Marlene Christiansen due to them
moving to Katy and we Leally miss them. We gained a hope -to -be member, Gerald 6, Janet
Guillory have a new daughter. She is very pretty and has a headfull of curly hair.
Congratulations mom & dad.

What we all tend to complain about most in other people are those things we don't like
about ourselves.

Some of the activities the team has been involved in since the last news letter are:
July 4, 1989
Brazos County REACT responded at 11:53 PM. to a house fire 719 S. Rosemary,
Bryan. House badly damaged. We served water & gatorade, helped with traffic control.
July 6, 1989
Brazos County REACT 11:00 PM responded to a 1050 on Leonard Rd. on the first bad
curve. 1 injured. Helpd with traffic control.
July 12, 1989
Brazos County REACT 9:00 PM. 1050, tandem trailer overturned at Booneville Rd.
& Pecan Ridge. No injury but the family lost all their furniture. Traffic control.
July 14, 1989
Brazos County REACT 7:00 PM responded to house fire 206 W. 16 & Sterling, Bryan.
Total loss. We served water & gatorade, helped with traffic control.
July 15, 1989
Brazos County REACT 4:30 AM responded to trailer fire, Woodway Trailer Park, C.S.
Total loss, we served water & gatorade.
July 18, 1989
Brazos County REACT 2 :00 AM warehouse fire on Hickory Rd off Dowling Rd. Total
loss. 2 firemen were taken to hospital from heat exhaustion. Water & gatorade were served.

Brazos County REACT 5:00 PM 1050 Hwy. 21 WEst at Fast Start, 2 injured. Traffic Control
July 22, 1989
Brazos County REACT 6 :30 PM Grass fire off FM 60 West in Brushy Comm. Gatorade.
July 23, 1989
Brazos County REACT 2:00 PM house fire 206 Cooner, C.S., badly damaged. Water
and gatorade were served.
July 24, 1989
Brazos County REACT ,7:00 PM 1050 Booneville Rd. & FM 158. 2 injuries. We took 3
minors home plus 1 adult. Traffic control.
July 27, 1989 4:30 PM. Barn fire Wheelock Rd & 974. Lots of hay lost. Water & gatorade.
July 28, 1989
Brazos County REACT 4:30 PM Grass fire on 1179, 2 Mi E. of 158. Water & gatorade.
July 28, 1989
Brazos County REACT 5:08 PM car fire Wellborn Rd..
We responded to 10 fires & 6 accidents.

Earl and I attended the July llth meeting of the Brazos County Volunteer Firefighters
Association to present certifcates of appreciation and stay for part of the meeting.
They will be trying something new that will save lives or at least give them a good
chance. We will talk more about it at the meeting.
Hope to see all of yo at the meeting.
