HomeMy WebLinkAboutDelete Facility Record from the All Facility Listing Defense Civil Preparedness Agency NSS Delete to Facility Record from the All Facility Listin Local Civil Defense Coordinators have expressed a desire to remove nonexistent facilities from the National Shelter Survey (NSS) All Facility Listing (AFL) . They feel that the delete facility record procedures used in the past are not responsive to their needs and would like a direct link to the computer operations. New procedures have been developed to assist the coordinator in maintaining an up -to -date NSS inventory. On April 1, 1974 the Bureau of the Census, Suitland , Maryland and Jeffersonville, Indiana will be phased out of NSS activities and the DCPA, Shelter Development Branch (Field), Olney, Maryland will assume the responsibility of processing updated source documents. The SD Branch is located on site and in proximity to the National Civil Defense Computer Region TWO, FRC, Olney, Maryland and, therefore, operates as a central document processing location. When the local coordinator discovers a nonexistent facility recorded in the AFL, he should complete the attached deletion form and mail to the SD Branch, Olney, Maryland. Extreme caution should be exercised when deleting facility records. Once a facility record is deleted it cannot be reinstated but must be assigned a new identification number and re- entered in the system by a survey Data Input Form 682. The deletion form should not be used to remove an inplace structure. Deletion reasons such as: shelter is excess to local population; building is vacant; facility is ab or similar conditions, are not permitted. The only valid deletion conditio oned , is a firsthand knowledge that the facility has been demolished razed, gutted by fire or made nonexistent onexistent for other reasons. All other deletion requests will be directed tote applicable CE /NAVFAC field office. 2 Copies of the NSS Delete Facility Record Form are enclosed. Additional copies may be obtained on request to: DCPA Shelter Development Branch (Field) P.O.
