McGinnis, Colleen Risinger, Ernie Wright. Approved Absence: Meredith Waller Unapproved Absence: N/A Staff Attendance: Anne Boykin, Heritage Programs; David Gerling, Special Facilities Visitor: Steve Beachy, Chairman, Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Agenda Item #1: Call to Order Meeting was called to order by Hillary Jessup at 4:00 p.m. Agenda Item #2 -3: Hear Visitors Steve Beachy presented the Lynn Stuart Pathway plan. Agenda Item #4: Absence Request Absence requests were approved. (AT /cr) Agenda Item #5: Approval of the minutes Motion was made, seconded to approve the minutes of January 5, 2009. (EA/si) Agenda Item #7: Possible action and discussion on El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail. David and Anne B. reported on the recent meetings with City of CS Legal Department, concerning setting aside land for ECR, and the ECR Committee. Agenda Item #8: Possible action and discussion on HPC Goals for 2009. Committee agreed that the current projects would fulfill the goals discussed at the retreat. Agenda Item #9: Possible action and discussion on original College Station street markers. Anne B. reported on an idea for preserving the remaining original street markers. Agenda Item #10: Committee Reports: Landmark Commission (Hillary) Hillary reported that the commission will meet on the last Monday of the month at 5pm in the Council Chambers. The meetings are open to the public. Exploring History Lunch Lectures (Ernie, James and Hillary) Etha Gray will be the speaker for the February lecture with the topic of African - American History in Brazos County. Historic Markers (Meredith, Hillary and James) James reported that he has been researching houses built by William Fitch. Oral History Project (Lou and Anne T.) No report given. Project HOLD (Lou, Colleen, Susan and Anne T.) See attached report. Education Committee (Ernie, Earl and Lisa) No report given. Agenda Item #9: Possible action and discussion on the "Coffee with the MayorS ", exhibit opening and Project HOLD Open House. Anne B. requested that HPC members attend the Coffee and volunteer to host the Project HOLD Open House. Agenda Item #11: Possible action and discussion on the HPC Report to Council. Anne B. stated that the report to council has been changed to March 26.
