Box 11055 College Station, Texas 77842 2009 VETERANS DAY CEREMONY & BBQ DINNER AT VETERANS PARK The Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Board and the Museum of the American G.I. are co‐hosting the annual Veterans Day Ceremony and BBQ at Veterans Park (Harvey Rd., east of Hwy. 6) in College Station, Texas, on Wednesday, 11 November 2009. This year, the annual event will be expanded to include, not only the unveiling of this year’s names on the Wall of Honor, but docent tours of the Lynn Stuart Pathway dedicated to the veterans of U.S. wars since 1775. The Museum of the American G.I. will host a WWII vehicle display and the Gen. George S. Patton Headquarters Field Command Van at the event. Schedule of Events: 4 p.m. Docent tours of the Lynn Stuart Pathway 5 p.m. Unveiling of the veterans names at the Louis L. Adam Memorial Plaza 6 p.m. Veterans Day Ceremony at the American Pavilion 7 p.m. BBQ Dinner at the American Pavilion Tickets for the BBQ Dinner are $8 and will be available at the College Station Conference Center, 1300 George Bush Drive or from members of the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Board. Tickets are available NOW! The Lynn Stuart Pathway is a 2/3 mile walking path that, when completed, will feature granite markers, historical interpretive panels, benches and statues of individual soldiers in period uniforms for each of the 17 wars including the War for Texas Independence. Each setting will be made possible by donations from the community. The Museum of the American G.I. is a non‐profit military living history museum located south of College Station on Hwy. 6. They host annual events including WWII battle reenactments. Current restoration projects include the USS Iwo Jima LPH‐2. Website: www.magicstx.org.
