Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
The Lord does not faint or grow weary, giving power to the faint and strengthening
the powerless.
Even the strong among God's people become weary and exhausted. Those who wait
for the Lord, however, discover their strength renewed.
They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and walk without fainting.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing;
It is the gift of God — not the result of works, so that no one may boast.
For we are what God has made us,
Created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand
to be our way of life.

PRAYER OF PRAISE AND CONFESSION
SCRIPTURE Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green
pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth
me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For Thou art with me. Thy rod
and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil. My cup runneth over. Surely,
goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the
house of the Lord for ever.

PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING, INTERCESSION, AND THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom
come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

In all things, we are more than conquerors through God who loves us. For
I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things
present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything
else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ
Jesus our Lord.

RUTH JONES CURRIE
Ruth was born on February 8, 1922, in Falls County, Texas, the first
4111110. of three children to Edith and Vardie Jones. Ruth graduated from
Lott High School as valedictorian of her class and was offered
le university scholarships, but her father's illness and the family's
need for her to remain close to home altered her plans.
She married Jack W. Currie in 1942, and spent the next 20 plus
years as an Air Force wife. They retired and moved to Bryan, Texas,
m r in 1962. Ruth and Jack were married for 65 years and have three
J children.
Having grown up on a farm, Ruth enjoyed life's simple things. She loved sewing, canning,
reading, gardening, working crossword puzzles and cooking.
Although a Baptist from birth, when Ruth married Jack, she became a Presbyterian disciple of
Jesus Christ and was active in First Presbyterian Church of Bryan lo degrees which would
make an energetic person tired. She gave hundreds of hours volunteering at the church and
served as a deacon, an elder, a member of Upper Crust, President of the Women of the Church,
and served on One Pastor Nominating Committee and one Associate Pastor Nominating
Committee. One of her most rewarding experiences occurred through the Service Committee
with the resettlement of a Chilean family in Brazos County. She was also a member of Eastern
Star.
Ruth and Jack enjoyed and spent many years traveling the open road in their RV and exploring
every state in the union. They also served as camp - ground hosts in a national forest in
Colorado-for several years. Ruth was a loving, giving person to her family and friends and will
be missed greatly.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Jack Currie; three children, Don J. Currie, Ruth
Blatchley, and Brian Currie; grandchildren, Kimberly Blatchley, Matthew Currie and Elizabeth
Currie; great - grandchildren, John Thornton and Tiffany Thornton; and great -great grandson,
Collin Thornton.
The family suggests that gifts may be made in Ruth's memory to First Presbyterian Church of
Bryan, Hospice Brazos Valley, or the Alzheimer's Association.
