Stephen D. Pearce, 85, of
Bryan went to be with the
Lord on Saturday, March 14,
r 2009. A memorial service to
celebrate his life is set for 1 p.m.

Stephen was born to Stephen
and Cecile Pearce. He attended school in Bryan and
graduated .from Stephen F. Austin Hi h School in
g
1942. He graduated from Texas A&M Universit with a Y
Bachelorof Sciencein 1949 andhis Masterof Education
in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army during World War ;.~,pLL~ II from 1942 to 194f .
Stephen worked for more than 34 years for the Bryan
Independent School District. He served as a teacher,
administrator and principal. He retired in 1985 to travel
and play tennis. During his life, he had a passion for
sailin tennis and woodworkin . He was a member of ~ ~ g
i First United Methodist Church and participated in the
i mens bible study group.
Stephen married Mable Rawls on December 20,
1947.7hey had two children, Stephen L, and Richard.
Stephen's greatest love was for the Lord, his Tamil and Y
friends.
~ He was preceded in death b his beloved wife of more Y
than 61 years, Mable; parents, Stephen and Cecile
Pearce; two. sisters, Ada Lou Davis and Julia Kna ;and PP
a grandson, Joshua Gray.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law,
k Stephen L. and Rhonda Pearce and Richard D. and
DeDe Pearce; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, oan J
k and Robert Martin; and many wonderful nieces and
nephews.
