HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-1345 - Ordinance - 03/11/1982ORDINANCE NO. 1345 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 21.98 ACRE TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE, ABSTRACT 7, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R -1 TO APARTMENT /LOW DENSITY DISTRICT R -4. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 11, 1982 on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of the following tract of land, lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas and being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: Being a 21.98 acre tract or parcel of land, lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Abstract 7, Brazos County, Texas and being a portion of a 146.5 acre tract conveyed to Harry Gorzycki by Henry Gorzycki by deed recorded in Volume 81, page 186 of the deed records of Brazos County, Texas and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at an iron rod found marking the point of intersection of the northwest line of the aforementioned 146.5 acre tract with the north right -of -way line of Farm -to- Market Road 2818 commonly known as the West Bypass; THENCE N 43 35' 57" E along the said northwest line of the 146.5 acre tract for a distance of 805.40 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING; THENCE continuing N 43° 35' 57" E along the northwest line of the 146.5 acre tract for a distance of 978.76 feet to an iron rod for corner; same lying on a southwest line of a 58.30 acre tract conveyed to Arapaho Ltd., by Raymond Gorzycki by deed recorded in Volume 354, page 416 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; THENCE along the common line of the herein described tract and the Arapaho, Ltd. 58.30 acre tract for the following calls; S 47° 49' 46" E for a distance of 536.60 feet to an iron rod for angle point; S 00 36' 36" E for a distance of 869.47 feet to an iron rod for corner, same lying on the north right -of -way line of FM 2818 (West Bypass). THENCE westerly along the north right -of -way line of FM 2818 (West Bypass) for the following calls; S 86 19' 52" W for a distance of 664.57 feet to a THD concrete monument for angle point; S 89 34' 15" W for a distance of 300.62 feet to a THD concrete monument for angle point; S 89 07' 39" W for a distance of 2.73 feet to an iron rod set in the center of a creek; rr✓ THENCE northerly along the centerline meanders of said creek for the following calls; N 01 53' 44" W for a distance of 51.61 feet; 03595 ORDINANCE NO. 1345 Page 2 N 76° 24' 52" E for a distance of 58.56 feet; N 19 24' 45" W for a distance of 66.27 feet; N 56° 03' 28" E for a distance of 45.04 feet; N 08° 55' 57" E for a distance of 138.78 feet; N 83 23' 57" E for a distance of 30.52 feet; N 16° 42' 04" W for a distance of 66.72 feet to an iron rod set for corner at the point of exit of said creek; THENCE N 46 24' 03" W for a distance of 301.88 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 21.98 acres of land, more or less from Single Family Residential District R -1 to Apartment /Low Density District R -4. And, it is ordained that said changes shall become effective immediately. PASSED AND APPROVED this 11th day of March , 1982.
