AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 1 -C OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY
OF COLLEGE STATION PRESCRIBING UTILITY DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION:
1.
That Chapter 11, Section 1 -C, Residential Service shall be amended
to read as follows:
I. Minimum Deposit Required
Homeowner and tenants or non - homeowners as a condition for obtaining
connections for electricity and /or water, or for continuing such connections
if they have already been made must make a deposit with the City of
College Station in the following minimum amounts for each connection
desired:
a. Electric deposit - $105.00
b. Water deposit - $30.00
2. Homeowners
Domestic consumers (homeowners residing within the boundaries of the
utility distribution system of this city), who have a record of twelve
(12) consecutive payments by the due date may request that the deposit
be returned to them by the City of College Station. A later record of
failure to pay utility payments by the due date shall be deemed just
cause to require a subsequent cash deposit.
2.
Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of
this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any purpose, the
remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
4.
And it is ordained that this ordinance shall become effective
from and after the passage in accordance with the city charter of the City
of College Station.
