AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 2.396 ACRE TRACT OF LAND IN THE MORGAN RECTOR LEAGUE,
ABSTRACT 46, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING A PORTION OF THAT 10.3 ACRE TRACT
CONVEYED TO JOHNNIE A. ATKINS AND WIFE BY FRANK SODOLAK BY DEED RECORDED IN
VOLUME 173, PAGE 350 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING MORE
FULLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM SINGLE
FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R -1 TO GENREAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C -1.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on
Monday, November 24, 1980 on the question of rezoning certain areas within the
City Limits;
AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following:
To rezone or change the classification of all that certain 2.396 accre tract of
land lying in the Morgan Rector League, Abstract 46, Brazos County, Texas, and
being a part of that 10.3 acre tract conveyed to Johnnie A. Atkins and Wife by
Frank Sodolak by deed recorded in Volume 173, page 350 of the Deed Records of
Brazos County, Texas and being more fully described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at an iron rod found marking the point of intersection of the northwest
right -of -way line of Sebesta Road with the northeast right -of -way line of State
Highway 6 East Bypass;
THENCE N 07 0 24'46" W along the said northeast right -of -way line of State Highway 6
East Bypass for a distance of 359.69 feet to a found concrete monument;
THENCE N 01 0 02'57" E continuing along the northeast right -of -way line of the East
Bypass for a distance of 41.90 feet to an iron rod for corner, same lying on the
northwest line of the said 10.3 acre tract;
THENCE N 42 0 04'13" E along the northwest line of the said 10.3 acre tract a distance
of 379.74 feet to an iron pipe found marking the north corner of the 10.3 acre tract;
THENCE S 44 0 34'49" E along the northeast line of the said 10.3 acre tract a distance
of 9.92 feet to an iron pipe for angle point;
THENCE S 02 0 28'58" W continuing along the northeast line of the 10.3 acre tract a
distance of 461.55 feet to an iron pipe for corner, said corner also lying on the
northwest right -of -way line of Sebesta Road;
THENCE S 42 0 41'02" W along the northwest right -of -way line of Sebesta Road a dis-
tannce of 288.77 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 2.396 acres of land,
more or less, from Single Family Residential District R -1 to General Commercial
District C -1.
And, it is ordained that said change shall become effective immediately.
