HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-1177 - Ordinance - 09/04/1979No ORDINANCE NO. 1177 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: An affidavit having been made by all of the owners of the hereinafter described territory adjoining the limits of the City of College Station, Texas, to the effect that there are no registered voters residing within the boundaries of the hereinafter described territory and that the affiants are the sole owners of the hereinafter described territory and, THE AFORESAID affidavit having been filed with the City Secretary who has certified the same to the City Council, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council by virtue of the authority conferred by Article II, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of College Station, Texas, approved on April 4, 1972, by this ordinance does hereby receive such territory within the incorporated limits of the City of College Station, Texas, such territory being more particularly described as follows: Being all that 250 acre tract or parcel of land, a part of a 1580 acre tract conveyed to Bert Wheeler Beverage Stores, Inc. by M. Dansby et al by deed recorded in Volume 291, page 764 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: COMMENCING at the intersection of the present city limits of the City of College Station, Texas, and the northwest right-of-way line of State Highway No. 30, the said intersection being located in Carter's Creek; THENCE along the northwest right-of-way line of State Highway No. 30 by the following courses: N 39018-04" E -- 1352.23 feet; S 45028'52" E -- 14.09 feet; N 39013'40" E -- 801.00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING of the herein described 250 acre tract; THENCE continuing along the northwest right-of-way line of State Highway No. 30 by the following courses; N 39013-40" E -- 686.27 feet; Along the arc of a Surve to the right (radius = 2889.42 feet) the chord of which bears N 43 36'15" E -- 442.63 feet; N 48000-49" E -- 2394.52 feet; THENCE along the northeast line of a 150 acre tract conveyed to H.P. Dansby by A.R. Jones et al and described by deed recorded in Volume 76, page 343 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, by the following courses: N 41015'49" W -- 1344.50 feet N 40055'47" W -- 1271.43 feet N 39038'09" W -- 128.28 feet tow N 42029'00" W -- 162.98 feet N 50004'15" W -- 119.36 feet to the southeast right-of-way line of State Highway 60; 0314114 W ORDINANCE NO. 1177 Page 2 THENCE along the southeast righ-of-way line of State Highway No. 60 by the following courses: S 47054159" W -- 2128.65 feet Along the arc of a 8urve to the right (radius = 6219.66 feet) the chord of which bears S 52 33'39" W -- 1006.64 feet; S 57012'00" W -- 300.00 feet; S 54020'09" W -- 155.60 feet; THENCE S 42042'14" E -- 3305.27 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 250 acres of land, more or less.
