HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-1168 - Ordinance - 07/12/1979ORDINANCE NO. 1168 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 6.99 ACRE TRACT AND A 6.20 ACRE TRACT LOCATED IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE, ABSTRACT NO. 7, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING A PART OF A 64.17 ACRE TRACT CONVEYED TO JAMES CONNER SMITH, TRUSTEE BY MARY SMITH, ET AL, BE DEED RECORDED IN VOLUME 313 PAGE 151 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS FROM GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1 AND APARTMEn BUILDING DISTRICT R-6 TO APARTMENT BUILDING R-5. AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 12, 1979 on the question of rezoning certain areas within the City Limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following; To rezone or change the classification of a 6.99 acre tract and a 6.20 acre tract located in the Crawford Burnett League, Abstract No. 7, Brazos County, Texas and being more fully described as follows: TRACT ONE: All that certain 6.99 acre tract of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Abstract No. 7, Brazos County, Texas, and being a portion of a 14.60 acre tract conveyed to James Conner Smith, Trustee, by Leon Stansey, et al, by deed recorded in Volume 313, page 164 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at the north corner of the aforsaid 14.60 acre tract, said corner also lying in the southwest right-of-way line of State Highway No. 6 (Texas Avenue); THENCE S 48037'35" W along the northwest line of the 14.60 acre tract a distance of 250.84 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING: THENCE Continuing S 48037'35" W along the northwest line of said 14.60 acre tract for a distance of 1030.75 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE S 86004'25" E for a distance of 491.24 feet to an iron rod for corner, said corner lying on the southeast line of the 14.60 acre tract; THENCE N 48036-22" E along the southeast line of the 14.60 acre tract a distance of 713.90 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE N 46004'25" W a distance of 350.90 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and con- taining 6.99 acres of land, more or less, and; TRACT TWO: All that certain 6.20 acre tract of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Abstract No. 7, Brazos County, Texas, and being a portion of a 64.17 acre tract conveyed to James Conner Smith, Trustee, by Mary Smith, et al, by deed recorded in Volume 313, page 151 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at the north corner of the aforsaid 64.17 acre tract, said corner also lying in the southwest right-of-way line of State Highway, No. 6 (Texas Avenue); THENCE S 4803622" W along the northwest line of the 64.17 acre tract a distance of 250.83 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING; 03119 ORDINANCE NO. 1168 Page 2 On THENCE continuing S 48036'22" W for a distance of 713.90 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE S 86004'25" E a distance of 180.69 feet town iron rod for corner; THENCE S 80037'41" E a distance of 80.00 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE S 46004'25" E a distance of 370.00 feet to an iron rod for corner; THENCE N 42057'17" E a distance of 550.08 feet to an iron rod for cornery THENCE N 46004'25" W a distance of 436.73 feet to the''PLACE OF BEGINNING and con- taining 6.20 acres of land, more or less, from General Commercial District C-1 and Apartment Building District R-6 to Apartment Building District R-5.
